The Central Alberta AIA Branch is please to announce that Kristen Anderson, PWS, CPESC will be presenting on Wetland Delineation Methodology at our next meeting, May 23, 2017.

Abstract:
This presentation will provide an overview of the methods for delineating wetland boundaries, what makes an area wet enough, and the various tools used in making these determinations.  Discussion will also include an overview of wetlands functions and values, placing them into context of compensating for wetland loss including onsite replacement, wetland banking, and in-lieu fee programs.  
Biography: 
Kristen Andersen, PWS, CPESC, is a wetland ecologist with 20 years of professional experience as an environmental consultant and has been teaching the Wetland Delineation, Classification and Assessment course for 7 years at the University of Alberta Faculty of Extension. Her professional experience includes wetland delineation, mapping, functional assessment, as well as the design, installation and monitoring of wetland creation and restoration sites. She has knowledge and experience of wetlands and their role in both ecological and business/regulatory contexts. She is a certified Professional Wetland Scientist by the Society of Wetland Scientists.
