Boyd Laing, PAg

Boyd grew up in Leader, Saskatchewan. Growing up in a farming community he developed an interest in farming and management of the land. Boyd completed a Bachelor of Science in Land Use and Environmental Studies at the University of Saskatchewan in 1997. Boyd returned to the University of Saskatchewan and completed a Master of Science in Geography (Hydrology) in 2005. Boyd completed the AIA articling program and has been a Professional Agrologist with the AIA since 2009. Boyd is currently also a member of the SIA and BCIA.

Boyd started his career working in the forestry sector in northwestern Alberta while completing the last two years of his MSc. Boyd moved to the environmental industry in 2005. Since moving to the environmental industry, he has worked in most areas of Alberta mainly working on reclamation and remediation projects. Boyd is currently working as a Regional Manager for Summit Liability Solutions Inc. Boyd is mainly involved with management of a diverse team of environmental professionals. He thoroughly enjoys working in reclamation and working with teams developing reclamation strategies on complex projects.

Boyd has been an active in the AIA since becoming a member. He has served as Chair and Past Chair for the Kalyna Branch. Boyd has been a member of the AIA Awards and Registration Committees between 2015 and 2017.

Boyd lives in Lloydminster with his wife and three children and has a fourth attending Grant McEwan University in Edmonton. Boyd is active with his children’s hockey teams and you can find him many nights of the week at the rink coaching children in the sport of hockey and team development.
